THE WARNING kündigen neues Album „Keep Me Fed“ für den 28. Juni an – Zwei neue Singles „Hell You Call A Dream“ und „Qué Más Quieres“
Das Alternative-Rock-Schwesterntrio THE WARNING aus Monterrey, Mexiko, kehrt mit einem Knall zurück und kündigt für den 28. Juni sein sehnsüchtig erwartetes Debütalbum „Keep Me Fed“ (LAVA/Republic Records) an. Physische Produkte sind hier verfügbar, zum digitalen Presave geht es hier.
Schlagzeugerin Paulina „Pau“ Villarreal über den Albumtitel „Keep Me Fed“:
„Throughout the whole process, the work was consuming us. By impacting everything we did, the album kept us fed both creatively and personally. We’re inviting other people to participate and consume it too.“
Gleich zwei neue Singles, „Hell You Call A Dream“ und „Qué Más Quieres“, wecken die Vorfreude auf das Album.
Die Songs zeigen die Evolution der Band und die Bandbreite ihres Stils auf. In „Hell You Call A Dream“, mitgeschrieben und produziert von Anton Delost (Highly Suspect, Mayday Parade) und Dan Lancaster (Muse, Bring Me The Horizon) umgarnt eine einprägsame Keyboardmelodie kräftige Basslines. Gitarrengrooves verankern die emotionale Hook:
„Give me something to believe, in this hell you call a dream.“
Gitarristin und Sängerin Daniela „Dany“ Villarreal:
„‚Hell You Call A Dream‘ tries to express a feeling most musicians find hard to express. When you’re touring, you experience the positives, the negatives, and the whole spectrum of emotion all at once. It’s about how something you love so much can be something that also weighs you down, but you continue to do it out of love. It’s fulfilling, but it’s tiring.“
Mit „Qué Más Quieres“ verdeutlichen die drei Musikerinnen ihre Vielseitigkeit noch weiter. Ein prägnantes Gitarrenriff bahnt den Weg für einen Refrain, der wie dafür gemacht ist, in aller Welt gesungen zu werden.
„The title translates to ‘What else do you want?'“
, erklärt Paul:
„It’s about taunting and manipulating. We were thinking of the TikTok phrase, ‚Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss‘, and turned it into a song.“ Dany ergänzt: „It means a lot to sing in our language and represent our country. Over the years, doors have finally opened for Mexican women in rock, and we’re actively participating in opening these doors where we can.“
„Keep Me Fed“ enthält auch „MORE“, das die Band bei den MTV VMAs 2023 performte, und den kürzlich veröffentlichten Fan-Favoriten „S!CK“, der aktuell die Active Rock Charts erklimmt.
